Prizes

1st Prize: 40.000 CHF
2nd Prize: 30.000 CHF
3rd Prize: 20.000 CHF
The Géza Anda Foundation arranges a considerable number of concert appearances for all three prize winners in the period from 2024 to 2027 and takes over the free concert management during these three years. The award winners, for their part, undertake to keep the confirmed concert performances.

Special Prizes

GÉZA ANDA AUDIENCE PRIZE

This Prize rewards the finalist whose personal and musical character makes the greatest impression on the concert audience. The Audience Prize is sponsored by Privatbank IHAG Zürich AG

THE MUSIKKOLLEGIUM WINTERTHUR MOZART PRIZE

The Mozart Prize is awarded by the Musikkollegium Winterthur to the semi-finalist whom they consider to have given the best interpretation during the Mozart-Semifinal of the Concours Géza Anda 2024, and consists of a concerto accompanied by the orchestra.

LISZT-BARTÓK PRIZE

The Liszt-Bartók Prize is awarded by the competition jury for the best performance of a work/works by Liszt and/or Bartók during the first, second and/or final round of the 16th Concours Géza Anda 2024.

THE G. HENLE VERLAG BEETHOVEN PRIZE

The Beethoven Prize, endowed by the publishing house G. Henle Verlag, is awarded by the competition jury for the most convincing interpretation of a work by Ludwig van Beethoven during the 16th Concours Géza Anda. By endowing a Beethoven Prize, G. Henle Verlag would like to raise awareness among competition participants of the crucial role that an authentic score plays in musical interpretation. To this end, the prizewinner will be given access to a large number of Urtext editions - either in print, or in digital form.

HORTENSE ANDA SPECIAL PRICE

The Géza Anda Foundation will award the Hortense Anda Special Prize to one of the young participants for a performance of outstanding artistic merit during the Competition.

PRIX FONDATION THIÉBAUD-FREY

The Fondation Thiébaud-Frey endows an award for a prizewinner of the 16th Concours Géza Anda, which is worth CHF 3000 and includes a recital at the cultural centre La Prairie in Bellmund, Switzerland.

Online Application

The Concours Géza Anda 2024 is open to participants from all countries who are born after 30th May 1992. Applications can only be submitted online. All applicants must create an individual account and enter their application in the online portal from 19th November 2023 until 11th February 2024, which includes:

  • the upload of personal contact details and a valid identification document
  • individual choice of repertoire for the CGA 2024, if necessary upload a score of the (optional) piece of free choice
  • information on CV, training, concerts, masterclasses and competitions, details of commitments to concert agencies
  • artistic CV and artist photos
  • confirmation of being familiar with the General Terms of Participation, the Conduct Clause and the CHF 300 registration fee
  • video recording provided through YouTube (link not open to the public)
    please note for your video recording:
    • The video recording has to be approx. 30 minutes long and unedited (in one take).
    • Your hands should be visible in the video.
    • No application videos will be accepted which contain works or parts of works from the complete repertoire list of the Concours Géza Anda 2024 (from 1st Round to Final, see: Rules & Repertoire).

Application until 11.02.2024 / registration fee
Your application or amendments and addition of further information in the online portal (including changes of your choice of repertoire) will only be possible until 11th February 2024 (24:00 CET). Your application becomes valid after payment of the registration fee of CHF 300 to:

Applicants will be informed by 31st March 2024 whether they will be admitted to the 1st Round/Auditions. Applicants who are not admitted to the 1st round on the basis of the video recording provided will be refunded the registration fee. Participants of the 1st round will be reimbursed the registration fee at the kick-off meeting. Applicants who withdraw from participation or are prevented from participating for any reason will not be refunded the registration fee.
