Dénes Várjon is one of the most highly respected, sought-after artists on the international scene, both as a soloist and in chamber music. In the same year that he completed his training at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, he won first prize at the Concours Géza Anda. Since then, he has been a regular guest artist at major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Konzerthaus and London’s Wigmore Hall. Várjon has performed with world-renowned orchestras including the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. His artistic partners have included Alfred Brendel, Tabea Zimmermann, Jörg Widmann, Sir Georg Solti, András Schiff, Ádám Fischer and Heinz Holliger. Together with Izabella Simon, he is the joint Artistic Director of the kamara.hu Chamber Music Festival at the Franz Liszt Academy. Várjon has made many CD recordings, and in 2020 he was awarded the Kossuth Prize.
