Dear audience, dear friends of the Concours Géza Anda
This year, the Géza Anda-Foundation presents two projects that are dedicated to a Géza Anda, since 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of his passing, offering us an opportunity to commemorate his legacy in a special way. And so, throughout this year, the Géza Anda-Foundation is organising and supporting a series of events which, as a complement to the Géza Anda Competition held every three years – the next one will take place from 26 May to 5 June 2027 in Zurich and Winterthur – shed light on particular sides of Géza Anda’s artistic achievements: Different prize-winners, whose activities and career development are a particular focus of our foundation, will perform both as soloists and in varying ensembles.

A particular highlight will be a unique concert on 13 October 2026 at the Great Hall of the Tonhalle Zurich. It is called ‘Hommage à Géza Anda’ and will feature works for tw, three and four pianos by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – a repertoire rarely heard live. Here, two renowned artists – David Fray and Zlata Chochieva, who are also members of our juries – will perform alongside prize-winners from recent editions of the Concours Géza Anda. We are delighted to welcome the Musikkollegium Winterthur, our long-standing partner for the Mozart round of the Concours Géza Anda, as the orchestra for this event.
These activities are organised by the Géza Anda-Foundation as a warm-up for the 2027 Concours Géza Anda and are intended to motivate the finest young pianists to apply for our next competition when the registration period opens on 19 November 2026. On the other hand, we hope to generate a great interest among our audiences, the community of our host families and music lovers in and around Zurich.
