On 5th June, the Géza Anda-Foundation bestowed the Hortense Anda-Bührle Scholarship for One of the Youngest Participants of the Concours Géza Anda upon 20-year-old Giorgi Gigashvili from Georgia. Based on this achievement Giorgi was invited to participate at the prestigious Kissinger KlavierOlymp in Germany last week.
Six excellent competitors took part in this friendly contest, each playing a full recital as well as a contribution of about 20 minutes to the final. Giorgi chose to play a colourful morning recital moving through music history from Scarlatti to Ustvolskaya, and repeating Chopin’s Fourth Ballad and Liszt’s Mazeppa-Etude during the final. For his performance he was awared the First Prize and the Audience Prize of the 19th Kissinger KlavierOlymp.
The final concert with all six participants can be heard on radio Bayern Klassik on Sat 16th October, 15:05h.
